Richland One Announces Blue Ribbon Committee To Oversee Bond Referendum

Richland One’s school board has announced the establishment of a 30-member Blue Ribbon Committee, a citizens’ advisory group to provide advice and oversight for the middle and high schools’ facility construction program approved in the Nov. 8 bond referendum.

Members are: Rhett Anders, Ronald Anderson, Charles Blakely, Herbert Bynoe, David Coward, Jean Danner, Tony Dowdy, Rev. Charles Epps, Rev. Ed Francis, Steve Gantt, Betty Gregory, Yvonne Hall, Bick Halligan, Robert Heppenstall, III, Michael Jacobs, Milton Kimpson, Jim Leventis, Dan Lott, Tom Marshall, Frank McBride, Sue McClam, Tony McDonald, Henry McLaurin, Ike McLeese, Col. Angelo Perri, James Starnes, Karen Stone, Levola Taylor, Henry Ward and Preston Winkler.

The Blue Ribbon Committee is a diverse group of community leaders who are knowledgeable about the district and have made a commitment to serve throughout the multi-year construction process. Like the committee formed in 1996 to oversee the previous bond referendum, this committee will meet at least quarterly and serve as a liaison among the seven school clusters and as community representatives to the school board. It will receive administrative briefings, review the facility construction program and advise the board.
