Richland
School District One’s Partners in Education Foundation
is hosting a gala event in honor of 144 outstanding
high-school seniors from throughout the district.
The
second annual Richland One Academic All-Stars Recognition
Banquet will be held at 6:30 p.m. Thursday, April 24 at
the Adam’s Mark Hotel, 1200 Hampton St. Admission
to the event is by invitation only.
To
qualify as Academic All-Stars, students must have at least
a 3.5 GPA, rank in the top 10 percent of their high
school’s senior class and have no grade lower than a C
on any subject completed for high-school credit. Several
of the students who will be honored Thursday also meet the
High School Scholars criteria.
Richland
One’s Partners in Education Foundation was formed in
1987. Currently, 20 persons serve on the Foundation’s
Board of Directors. Columbia Mayor Bob Coble, a Richland
One alumnus and parent, is chairman of the Partners in
Education Board.
Partners
in Education is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization
incorporated by the State of South Carolina.
