Olympia Learning Center to host Middle College information session

The third in a series of public information sessions on Richland One’s Middle College at Midlands Technical College, a charter school that will open next fall, is Wednesday, Feb. 11 at 6:30 p.m. in the cafeteria at Olympia Learning Center.

The community is invited to attend and find out what the Middle College is all about and how it can benefit parents and students.

The Richland One Middle College is designed to increase learning opportunities by providing a new choice for rising 11th-grade students who have not reached their full potential in achieving success in the traditional high school setting.

The purpose of the school is to connect students to a successful high-school experience that will prepare them for life after high school. Located on the campus of Midlands Technical College, the charter school will provide students the opportunity to function in the collegiate environment, utilize state of the art technology, participate in internship opportunities and gain a head start on earning college course credits.

Remaining public information sessions are Feb. 16 at Columbia High Auditorium and Feb. 25, Rm LET 110 (1st floor), Midlands Tech-Beltline.
