Four
teams from Lewis Greenview Elementary were winners in the
state Odyssey of the Mind competition, and three
will compete in the World Finals in Ames, Iowa in May.
“The
Seven Blue Diamonds” team won first place in Division I.
Team members are Nichelle Torres,
Bria Bethea, Tashianna Lee, Leandra Middleton,
Lakeshia McNeal, Alicia Byrd and Moenika Ford. Fredina
McNeal, a parent, coached the team.
The
“7 JAGS of Easter Street” won first place for Primary
Team. Team members are Emanuel Washington, John Tolbert,
Jr., Destiny Tolbert, Maya Dilligard, Terry Pelzer,
Jessica Curry and Jasmine Myers. Team coaches are
Sonya Law-Tolbert, teacher and parent, and Renee Curry,
parent.The “7 Arabian Princesses” team placed second
in Division I. Team members are Tiera Smith, Terinesha
Pelzer, Velise Buckson, Shambre Brown, Countess Robinson,
Debra Riley and Kihana Pelzer. Parents DianeTaylor and
Angeline Smith coached the team.
"The Alienauts,
" coached by parents Allen Smith and Althea
won second place in Division I. Team members
are B.J. Holmes, Haskell Turner, Shakir Terry,
Ashley Stewart, Andrew Houser, Kendrick Houser and Tyler
Smith. Coaches: Mrs. Houser & Mr. Smith.
The three Division I
winners will advance to the World Finals.
