Crayton Middle captures record regional MATHCOUNTS title

Crayton Middle School’s MATHCOUNTS team placed first in the regional competition held at USC and will advance to the state competition on March 15 at the State Museum.

In addition to capturing the regional title, Crayton students Jim Manning, Scott Schultz and Lauren McFadden won individual honors.

Members of the MathCounts team are Jim Manning, Scott Schultz, Lauren McFadden and Sydney Kornegay.

Second-team members are James Bristow, Anna Hegquist, Theo DuBose and Ella Soltz.

Crayton holds the distinction of being the first team to win first place at the regionals for four, consecutive years.

Math teacher John Rushman coaches the team.
