A.C. Flora High
School wins national literary award
For the second, consecutive year, A.C. Flora
High School’s literary magazine "Awakening" has
won first place in the nation from the American
Scholastic Press Association.
The literary magazine was in competition with
all other high schools in America with the
same number of students (1001-1700). Magazines
are judged on content, organization, design,
presentation, and creativity. Flora had
a perfect score in content (the largest point
value - 400), and was almost perfect in all
the other categories.
This year's magazine, called "Awakening
to Life," was 56 pages and contained
115 pieces of creative writing and over 60
pieces of art.
