Hand Middle
School’s Fast Forward youth volunteers recently were
presented Presidential Awards for their help in tutoring
senior citizens, working as classroom assistants for
computer-based summer camps and developing Web pages.
Silver President’s Student Service Awards were
presented to those volunteering 50-100 hours of community
service while Gold President’s Student Service Awards
were presented to those volunteering more than 100 hours.
The following students received awards, which were
presented by Sen. John Courson and Rep. James E. Smith: Alex
Niblock; Alex Ruffin; Freeman Hamilton; Youlia
Milenkova; Renee Aelion-Leatherman; Case Stiglbauer;
Kathryn Vickers; Brenna Bernadin; Greg Marcil; Tommy
Alexander; and Mary Frances Cely.
