31 Richland One Teachers Achieve National Board Certification

Thirty one Richland One teachers are among the nearly 800 new National Board-certified (NBC) teachers in South Carolina, bringing the district’s total to 286 to date.

National Board certification is the highest credential available in the teaching profession. Teachers go through a rigorous two-part process that takes one to three years to complete. This process includes completing assessment center exercises based on content knowledge to prove that they have mastered the subjects they teach and that they know how to teach them. In addition to the $7,500/year state bonus, Richland One provides its NBC teachers with a $5,500/year supplement.

The names of the newly certified teachers were released December 16 by the State Department of Education. Richland One congratulates its newest National Board-certified teachers. The teachers and their schools are as follows:
