Two Richland One Students Win Prestigious $100,000 Furman University Scholarships

Dreher High School senior Roddey Smith and A.C. Flora High School senior Lee Deneen are the recipients of the highly prestigious Furman University Hollingsworth Scholarship valued at $100,000 over a four-year period.

The award also includes a study abroad stipend of $1,000, a guaranteed summer internship, an engaging on-campus research experience, and the exclusive Hollingsworth seminars that connect Furman students with government and civic leaders. The seminars are designed to foster community service and a better understanding of issues facing South Carolina.
