COMMUNITY INVITED TO MEET SUPERINTENDENT FINALISTS

The Richland One Board of School Commissioners invites the community to a reception next week to meet the three superintendent finalists.

The community meet-and-greet will be held Tuesday, May 6, from 6:00-7:00 p.m. in the Richland One Hall of Fame Room at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center, 1101 Lincoln St.

Anyone who would like to meet the superintendent finalists may drop in at any time during that hour. There will not be a formal program.

The finalists are:

* Dr. Gerald D. Dawkins, a native of Spartanburg, SC, who has served as superintendent of the Saginaw Public Schools in Saginaw, MI since 2001

* Dr. Percy A. Mack, a native of Savannah, GA, who has served as superintendent of the Dayton Public Schools in Dayton, Ohio since 2002

* Dr. Craig Witherspoon, a native of eastern North Carolina, who has served as superintendent of the Edgecombe County Public Schools in Tarboro, NC since 2006
