DISTRICT ACCEPTING SCHOOL TRANSFER APPLICATIONS

The Richland One Registrar’s Office is accepting applications for school transfers for the 2008-09 school year. Transfer applications will be accepted from April 15, 2008 through June 1, 2008.

Under Richland One school board policy, all students are expected to attend the school to which their residence zoned is except in unusual circumstances. Such unusual circumstances are limited to the following: (1) child care, (2) programmatic, (3) severe hardship, (4) employee option, (5) majority/minority, and (6) Title I option.

Transfer application forms may be downloaded from the district’s Web site at www.richlandone.org; click on "Departments" then click on the Student Registrar link in the departments list. Transfer applications are accepted Monday through Friday, from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. at the Registrar’s Office, located in the Lyon Street Student Services Center at 1310 Lyon St., Columbia, SC 29204. Completed applications may be hand-delivered, faxed or mailed. The fax number is 231-6949.

Parents should be advised that the following schools do not have transfer space available and are closed to transfer requests for 2008-09:

	A.C. Flora High
	Crayton Middle
	Brennen Elementary
	Caughman Road Elementary
	Logan Elementary
	Pine Grove Elementary
	H.B. Rhame Elementary
	Satchel Ford Elementary
	Hand Middle (15 slots available for sixth grade only)
	Rosewood Elementary (15 slots available for kindergarten only)
