Eau Claire Students Featured on MTV Reality Show MADE

It’s must see TV! Eau Claire High School students and several Richland One teachers are currently being featured as expert coaches for the MTV reality show MADE.

The students taught African rhythm and dance to a local honor student who wanted to be "made" into a hip-hop dancer. The episode was shot over a two-month period and is currently airing on MTV and MTV.com.

Eau Claire students Bobby D. Smith, Gerard Lancaster, Marquiton Richardson, Ashleigh Scott, Ashley Diggs, Tiyanka Samuel, Amanda Rice and Thadeus "LT" Wilson were asked to introduce Chapin teen Halle Wilm to the roots of hip-hop and to help her with her interpretation of rhythm. Eau Claire music teacher Dr. Chris Lee, Dreher dance teacher Kathleen Lee and Logan dance teacher Terrence Henderson worked with the students on the MTV feature.

'This was a great opportunity for us to get Eau Claire High School international exposure and our students were phenomenal," said Dr. Lee. "They played great and did a terrific job coaching."

Segments of the show, including a rap lesson, were shot on location at the Pecknel Music in Five Points, the Columbia City Jazz Dance Studio and Dr. Lee’s world music classroom at Eau Claire. The finale scene for the episode was shot at the Chapin High School talent show where Halle performed her hip-hop routine and students got the opportunity to meet KR Urban recording artist DJ Unk (hit songs Walk It Out and 2 Step).
