Richland One Student Nutrition Services Offers 2008 Seamless Summer Program
When school lets out for the summer, many children may not have access to a nutritios meal during the day. Richland One is committed to the principle that no child will be left behind. Therefore, Student Nutrition Services will operate the Seamless Summer Feeding Program in our schools and communities.
The Seamless Summer Program is a federally funded program whose purpose is to ensure that children in areas meeting specified income guidelines continue to receive nutritious meals during the summer vacation comparable to those served under the National School Lunch Program during the school year. It is designed to feed children 18 and younger only with the exception of disabled children up to age 21. Lunch and snacks will be available to be received and served by approved feeding sites. Sites are required to be open to all children in the community unless otherwise approved.
The Seamless Summer Feeding Program operates under the guidelines of the National School Lunch Program. The program is from June 2 - August 7, 2008.
If you are interested in participating in the program or have questions or concerns, please contact Richland One Student Nutrition Services at 231-6953 for an application no later than April 25, 2008 or click on the link below to view and print an application.
