Richland One School to Host 2008 Male Leadership Conference
Lewis Greenview Elementary is inviting families to attend the 2008 Male Leadership Conference on Saturday, February 16 from 8:30 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the school, 726 Easter Street.
The goal of the conference is to give families of elementary and middle school students the tools and information they need to help their children make better choices and steer clear of the juvenile justice system. Speakers will discuss gangs, better ways to communicate, and the importance of parental involvement. Incarcerated juveniles also will share their personal stories of lessons learned from their experiences and choices.
The conference is sponsored in conjunction with the USC Children’s Law Center. The event will focus on male role models, but women are encouraged to attend as well. There is no cost for this conference and lunch will be provided to participants who are asked to register by calling Christine Wallace, program manager at the Children’s Law Center, at 777-4322.
