Richland One Adult Education Office to Offer Free Job Training Classes in Eastover
Would you like to learn the basics of using a computer or maybe get your GED? This spring the Richland One Office of Adult Education is offering free job preparation classes at the Magic Johnson Community Empowerment Center, 140 Webber School Road in Eastover.
Introduction to Computers I
February 4-March 19, Mondays and Wednesdays
6-8 p.m.
Students will learn the basics of using a computer. This introductory course is designed for the beginner who will learn such skills as the proper way to start and shut down a computer, opening and saving files, and managing documents and folders.
GED Preparation
Starts February 5, Tuesdays and Thursdays
6-8 p.m.
Students will be prepared to take the GED test. They will have an opportunity to brush up on their math and reading skills.
Introduction to Computers II
April 7-May 7, Mondays and Wednesdays
6-8 p.m.
This introductory course will show the beginner how to use Microsoft Word, browse the Internet and perform other basic computer skills.
Later this spring the Office of Adult Education also hopes to offer Saturday workshops on interviewing skills, resume writing, office procedures and money management. More information will be provided on those courses as details are finalized.
