SCHOOL BOARD, COUNCILS TO HOLD JOINT MEETING

The Richland One Board of School Commissioners, Columbia City Council and Richland County Council will hold a joint meeting at 2 p.m. Monday, January 28, in the Richland One Hall of Fame Room at the Columbia Metropolitan Convention Center.

The purpose of the meeting is to discuss the next steps for the Together We Can coalition formed to support Richland One schools. More than 70 coalition members, including representatives of the district, the city and the county, recently traveled to Mobile, Ala., to learn more about a nationally recognized school-business-community partnership that has been credited with helping to raise student achievement in low-performing schools in Mobile County.
