NCAA (National Collegiate Athletic Association)
If you are planning on playing sports in college then you need to register with the National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA). Follow these steps:
- Register at the end of your JUNIOR year.
- Go to www.ncaaclearinghouse.net to register online or download the application and mail it in. Make sure you print out the two (2) Student Release forms and bring to the School Counseling Office. An official transcript will be sent once we have these Release forms.
- Request SAT/ACT scores be sent to the Clearinghouse when you register (code 9999 on test registration form).
- The NCAA will not accept credits earned in middle school to satisfy athlete eligibility requirements.
- After you graduate, you, your parent, or your coach needs to request a final evaluation from the NCAA in order for you to be eligible to play in college. This final evaluation does not happen automatically!
