ABOUT RICHLAND ONE TV

Richland One TV is Richland School District One’s award-winning cable-access channel. ROTV can be viewed by residents in the Greater Columbia area on Time Warner Cable Channel 12.

Housed in the Waverley Administration Center on Oak Street, ROTV is a broadcast-quality, four-camera television studio which produces district programming. Two employees - a producer/director and a media production specialist - staff the studio.

The ROTV staff is responsible for producing programming for educational, promotional and professional development purposes. Schools and administrative departments may submit requests for productions on an ROTV production request form.

ROTV has won multiple awards over the years from the S.C. chapter of the National School Public Relations Association and from the national organization itself. Original programming includes Richland One This Week (district and community news); Board Briefings (school board meeting highlights); Extra Credit (teen talk show); Living Smart (health and wellness information); Perspectives (district issues talk show); and On the Sidelines (sports show).

In addition, the ROTV Bulletin Board displays rotating announcements from district schools and departments of interest to students, parents, employees and the community, including emergency and severe weather information.
