Title: Procurement Services Reaching the Community
The office of Procurement and Warehouse Services participated in the SC Governor’s Office of Small & Minority Business Assistance (OSMBA) Annual Business Forum and Trade Fair held on March 19, 2008. This event was co-hosted by the state Procurement Services Division and the Procurement Procedures Committee. More than 1,000 businesses throughout South Carolina were invited to meet in one place for the largest annual event of its kind in the State.
The forum offered an opportunity to network with small, minority and women-owned business owners in an effort to discover new suppliers and become re-acquainted with former suppliers. In an effort to reach new or potential vendors, an information pamphlet on “How to Do Business with the District” was distributed along with a bid calendar identifying upcoming bid opportunities for goods and services offered by the District.
