Early Childhood Education Children must be 5 on, or before, September 1st of the applicable year in order to enter Kindergarten in the State of South Carolina. The kindergarten experience helps children to establish positive feelings about coming to school and their view of themselves as capable learners. Richland One follows the State guidelines and teaches the State Standards that have been outlined for kindergarten students. Our learning environments and instructional strategies consistently provide age appropriate, individual, and culturally appropriate experiences for our kindergarten students.
