Who we are

Here at Richland One we provide a continuum of programs for families and children from birth to school age. We are dedicated to helping our youngest children by providing early learning opportunities across multiple settings and programs. In collaboration with parents and community partners, the Early Childhood Program works to facilitate increased school readiness and community access as appropriate for our young learners. Our website is a resource for our early childhood teachers as well as parents and the community. Explore the site and let us know what you think.

Our mission

The Department of Curriculum & Instruction provides leadership in establishing a comprehensive system that supports district and school personnel in implementing the district's curricular and instructional intitiatives.

Our Objectives

  • Organize and support district level curriculum teams in providing district and school personnel with information and tools that support the delivery of expected instructional practices.
  • Increase use of effective strategies and techniques for assessing student progress towards meeting standards.
  • Work collaboratively with the Office of Professional Development to establish systems for training and supporting teachers as they work to implement the district's curriculum.

Congratulations!
Congratulations to Ayeshah Lumpkin and Nancy Tharpe, our newest National Board Certified Early Childhood Teachers. Ayeshah is a Kindergarten teacher at J. P. Thomas Elementary School, and Nancy is a Kindergarten teacher at Satchel Ford Elementary School. Well done, ladies!
