Permanent
Records
At the end of the school year or time of withdrawal, the year's attendance
and activities must be completed on the permanent record sheet. The recording
of this information should be written with black ink. If the student
has not listed any extracurricular activities, the year should still
be recorded followed by "none reported." In addition, daily attendance
must be recorded on the permanent record.

Grade
Books
A record must be kept of grades achieved by students. This includes information
containing all elements that are used in determining those grades. The
system used by each teacher in determining grades should be contained
in the grade book or as a hard copy of computer generated information
approved by the principal and should be understandable to others who
might have the need to examine and interpret how grades are derived from
the use of the system. In addition, this system must comply with the
district's Grading Policy and Procedures Manual. These grade books are
the property of the district and shall be turned in to the principal
(or designee) at the end of each year or at any time during the year
that a teacher ceases teaching a class.
All grade books must be kept by the school for five years before they
are discarded.
