GRADING PROCEDURES MANUAL
High School Credit for 7th and 8th Grade Students

When approved by the principal and the parents, a student promoted to the seventh or eighth grade who has given evidence of superior achievement or who has a special need may earn high school credit in the areas of keyboarding, mathematics, or foreign language. STUDENTS MUST EARN 77 OR BETTER TO RECEIVE HIGH SCHOOL CREDIT.

NO MIDDLE SCHOOL STUDENT MAY EARN MORE THAN THREE UNITS OF CREDIT. Carnegie units of courses taken in middle school will count toward the GPR except for courses taken over in grade 9. AAP courses awarding high school credit will be weighted. Courses for high school credit must be listed in the Master Course Catalog and approved by the Board. Middle school transcripts will show numerical grades for courses carrying Carnegie units.
