Student High Achievement ROPES Program
Career and Technology Education
Richland County School District One

Mission:
The mission of the Student High Achievement Ropes Program is to foster individual and team growth in an environment that is fun, safe and respectful. The program empowers students to experience and practice teamwork, problem-solving, conflict resolution, and communication skills. Using experiential activities, we provide opportunities for students to make positive choices, gain self-confidence and learn skills that are critical for life long learning.
Program Summary:
The program is designed to enhance student achievement through the use of an adventure challenge. The course consists of ten elements that are designed to move students from their normal comfort zone of learning into an outdoor adventure application. Students navigate the program in teams of ten; students solve a problem related to their academic studies or global issues. Each team is required to have all team members participate in the solution of the problem.
