South Carolina Junior Scholars Program

The South Carolina Junior Scholars Identification and Development Program was begun by the South Carolina Department of Education. The purpose of the program is to identify students with exceptionally high scholastic achievement and intellectual ability. Identified students are provided opportunities that will facilitate their intellectual growth, broaden their individual interest and promote their scholastic achievement in ways not currently available in the school program. Such opportunities are provided during the academic school year or summer following identification in the eighth grade and continue throughout secondary school.

The eligibility criteria for being considered as a SC Junior Scholar are determined by the South Carolina Department of Education.
