Richland One recruiting A+ teachers

Richland School District One is seeking teachers who are confident in their skills to move students academically and socially, who want to make a difference in the lives of young people and who seek a challenge.

Five Richland One schools are under state review because they did not make specific student achievement growth goals measured by state testing over three years. We refer to these schools as our A+ Schools.

Richland One’s A+ Schools are: C.A. Johnson Preparatory Academy, Eau Claire High School, Alcorn Middle School, Gibbes Middle School and W.A. Perry Middle School. These schools will receive additional support and resources from the district and the community to meet their academic challenges. Achievement, Access and Accountability will be the hallmarks of schools in the A+ Schools Project.

Teachers who work in A+ Schools can receive substantial compensation for additional work hours and work days, performance-based incentives, retention bonuses and supplemental pay for National Board certification. Potential annual earnings for A+ Schools teachers are outlined below:

* Bachelor’s degree with no experience - up to $44,455
* Master’s degree + 10 years’ experience - up to $71,981
* Master’s degree + 30 semester hours - up to $85,000
* Doctorate degree - up to $96,104
